The Center

The Center helps to oversee a number of student-groups for National/International Societies related to HCI (ACM, HFES, Cog Sci etc.). It hosts major conferences or workshops, providing national workshops in the HCI area at Penn State and helps to develop an online journal in interdisciplinary information sciences and technology, part of which focuses on HCI research. Many other possible connective links are possible including the Cognitive Systems Engineering Consortium and the new Center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

Members of the Center participate in several undergraduate research programs, including Women in Science and Engineering Research program, and Minority Undergraduate Research Experience, and the IST Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship program. The Center helps to support students and faculty efforts in this area.
